APRo
The consumer robotics market today is stuck in the mindset of creating single applications, rather than platforms. My senior design team spent one year creating a consumer robotic platform that enables developers and consumers alike to innovate and unleash their creativity and has the potential to forever change the smart home industry. APRo, short for Application-Based Robot, is a two-wheel, cylindrical robot based on a low power high-performance arm processor. Some of the main features include full 360-degree rotation of the center body, hardware expandability through the wheel caps, and software development in the Python language, the language of choice for most software developers today.
In addition to my role as team lead, I worked on the mechanical design, subsystem analysis, and manufacturing of all three robots.
