StarShips is a display of five Nubian Starships from the awesome realm of Star Wars. Each starship was modeled in SolidWorks primarily using the surfacing feature. The models were then processed using SolidCAM and the G-code was then run on a Haas Mini Mill.
The aluminum starships are tapped at an angle so that a curved brass stand can be screwed into place. The brass center pieces will have an image of the Naboo city, Theed, engraved on the top to connect the starships to the planet for which they were made. The Star Skiff and brass bases are still missing so I have about 50 more man-hours left in the shop before I begin to polish!
